Exploring Relationships, Love, and Life

he editing continues. It’s going slower because I’m not solely focusing on writing like before. I’m also focusing on my health and family. Halfway through, as of the second full week of April, I am making good progress. I’m basing the timeline on how long this first edit takes. I hope to publish in October.

Spring is sort-a coming here we melt and then it snows again, sometimes sticking and then other times it melts immediately but the amount of birds I’ve seen is amazing and I’m hounding the husband to set up the hummingbird feeders for me.

In knitting, I had the most obnoxious thing happen. Last month I showed my finished Weronika Sweater. I thought I’d like it to be a smidge longer. It’s not super cropped but used every bit of the Knit Picks Impressionist I had. I was working on my other project, the Pressed Flowers Cardigan, and I dropped a stitch marker into the sofa. As I went to pull it out, I found a ball of yarn, a full ball off the Impressionist.

So at some point I’ll be unpicking the sewn hem to add another ball. Perhaps I try going down a second needle size to keep the hem from flaring out because one needle size wasn’t enough, and it bothers me a little that it does that. Still upsetting, though. My sofa is the cosmic void where all lost things go to hide, a black hole of forgotten remotes, crochet hooks, and now apparently whole balls of yarn.

I also finished a class of Craftsy about entrelac knitting and I’m obsessed. I don’t have to count rows or stitches after the initial setup and to me its tv knitting that is a little more interesting but not enough that I have to give complete focus on it. Here is cowl I made for the class.

It’s been a busy April juggling editing, life, and enjoying spring. Things are slower now, but that’s okay. Family and health matter as much as finishing my book. The changing seasons inspire me, from the birds returning to the fun little surprises in my knitting. Yes, the saga of the Weronika Sweater continues, and despite the minor setbacks, I’m excited to refine it to my liking. My newfound obsession with entrelac knitting adds another layer of creativity to my days, providing the perfect blend of focus and relaxation. As we step into the rest of spring, I look forward to the fresh blooms, new ideas, and, inevitably, the laughter that follows each crafting mishap. Here’s to more knitting, more writing,
