This month, in fact today as this blog posts I’m undergoing surgery to remove my thyroid. Nearly a year has passed since this ordeal began and I hope that a new normal is on the horizon. I’m working ahead through December in anticipation that come the new year I’ll be ready and start editing and writing again.
My brain has been fuzzy with my thyroid being on the fritz and I’ve not been doing many authorly things, however I’ve been busy working on my fibery and thirsty things.
Here is my latest kombucha batch. Between kombucha and kefir water, I have plenty of fizzy fermented drinks for the whole family.

Now onto my fibery pursuits:
I’m not sure if I mentioned it, but back in August I joined Summer Lee’s Colorwork Cuff Club (CCC) for a cheap price of twelve bucks for the year. Every month she sends out a colorwork cuff pattern. You can choose to use her vanilla sock pattern for the cuff or your own. Here are my August Socks.

I started a pair of October socks with little ghosts. I want to finish them on time for Halloween.

There has been a ton of progress on my mustard yellow Frankenstein Cardigan. I need to finish the collar and I’d honestly lost some mojo for the project, but after taking a picture of it and seeing it in that aspect, I fell in love with it all over again.

My Salty Day Sweater has been a saga all its own. I’ve had to rip back three times because I messed up the instructions. Darn fuzzy brain because of thyroid. The project went into time out for a bit because I needed a break from it. But now it’s coming along wonderfully.

I completed an instant gratification project for my treadmill. Yes, I plan to teach myself how to knit and walk simultaneously. I have done this in the past with drop spindling. This bag can hang from the handles of my treadmill and hold my yarn as I walk. It’s my personal design. I might have to consider making a second one as also find I enjoy using it for all my projects at my desk.
As we cozy up under blankets with our knitting needles in hand, the act of creating something beautiful parallels the themes of perseverance and connection found in these novels. Whether it’s through a slow-burn romance that unfolds over shared cups of coffee or a whirlwind love affair that ignites with an unexpected spark, each recommendation invites us to explore the many facets of love in our own lives. Whether you choose to knit your way through the month or simply curl up with a good book, may this season overflow with love, laughter, and the magic that romance brings.
