Reading Nooks

Exploring Relationships, Love, and Life

I love the idea of reading nooks and after looking at a bunch of designs. I realized a few things. A ready nook has to comfortable enough to stay there for a reasonable length of time. I like the idea of books being the main decor (because why call it a reading nook if there isn’t a book in sight?) And it has to have great lighting to read with.

So here are some of my top picks for a great reading nook.

Kodama makes these great constructs called Kodama Loungers. The wonderful thing about these is that they can go anywhere. Inside or outside and they have several ways to hang or attach them. It’s like a hammock with a structural upgrade. You can find these at their online store.

Reading nooks put under staircases seem to be the next favorite of mine. Of course, getting lighting under steps as they are usually dark places might be problematic. Photo from Pinterest.

The next type of reading nook is more traditional, using a more study or personal library-type ambiance. Soft furniture and lighting make for a cozy feel. Alia Bengana architect found on Houzz.
