As summer begins its slow, golden retreat, the season seems to linger in fragments: the last humming cicadas at dusk, the fading brightness of long afternoons. The shift in the air hints at cooler days ahead, which have already started in here Maine. It evokes not just the end of a season, but the small, deliberate acts help us hold on to its warmth a little longer, one colorful skein, one quiet project, one mindful moment at a time.

As you can tell I was feeling a bit nostalgic the summer seemed to fly by.  But looking back I got a lot finished.

My Marguerite tank top is nearly finished. I’ve done two try-ons. One just after I connected in the round for the shoulder fit, and another after I finished the bust darts. It will be a cool weather piece in summer and a nice layering piece in winter.

This is the beginning of my Plaid World Jacket. This will be probably be my most challenging piece ever. It’s an intarsia plaid design. I hope to have it done in before winter.

We interrupt this garment knitting for an instant gratification crochet project. I couldn’t help myself. I’ve been wanting to make a bag, so here it is. I ordered the bottom and straps and then simply connected the bottom with two single crochets in each hole and then a row of half double crochet before using star stitch and changing colors to create the bag. Attach the handles and Bob’s your uncle. 🙂
