Knit, Purl, and Prose: Crafting Comfort in Yarn and Food

Exploring Relationships, Love, and Life

Amethyst D&D Dice

I’ve designated this week for what I am crafting or cooking. Maybe later I’ll decide to share these in separate posts. I enjoy cooking from scratch, and the older I get, the more I appreciate taking the time to do just that.

On the Needles

I’ve been going through my WIPs and what I would like to do for the season. I found a wonderful video from Nicole Knits on YouTube where she had taken the projects she is considering and put them into a spreadsheet (which is totally speaking my language).

I’ve frogged and few and put a few into hibernation. I’ll discuss them in a later post. Here is what I’m working on currently.

My online knitting group has started a KAL for Regina Marie by Sara Huntington Burch. I’ve been knitting since I was twelve, but I’ve always avoided lacemaking except for small portions of it. But I joined in this knit-along to push out of my comfort zone, and it is going well.

My first attempt to make Coq au Vin. Delicious!

In the Kitchen

In my cooking, I’ve tried many recipes, but there are some I had never made before because they sounded complicated, was Coq au Vin. I used Ina Garten’s recipe. It wasn’t as hard as it sounded. Although it was time-consuming, because it was the first time I’d made this French dish. It was completely worth the work. I made garlic mashed potatoes to go with it, and man, I did not mind the purple color of my chicken from the wine one bit.

I would love to hear from my readers to see what they are cooking and creating. Please tell me in the comments below.
