As 2025 comes to a close, I can’t help but feel unimpressed by the year overall. Because of my health issues, my progress was much slower this year. Yet amidst these struggles, I discovered patience with myself. A lesson that, though hard-earned, has offered me a glimmer of personal growth. I’m optimistic and resolved to improve, and I’m prepared for the new year’s challenges.

It’s not all bad, though it seems that the cat distribution system is at work, and while we were not looking for a third animal to bring into our lives. We met Lucky, meaning we are lucky to have him. At the time of this writing, we had spent nearly three weeks earning this cat’s trust, and finally last night he came into the house. For the first week and a half, he seemed happy and healthy. We set out food for him, but then he showed up limping with one eye not responding to light. He was still too afraid to let us near him, but he would walk over to the window and roll over for our cat. I have a vet visit scheduled for Friday morning if we can coax him from under our bathtub. He seems like a sweet, timid boy. I hope we can improve his life.
