September 9, 2025 Newsletter: Sneak Peek: A Four-Way Love Affair Awaits

Exploring Relationships, Love, and Life

Created with Sketch.

Dear Coterie,

At last, here is a little sneak peek into the upcoming ‘A Four-way Love Affair.’ I’m super excited about this book and look forward to sharing more about it. This is going to be part of a new series called “The Click”, which follows people using a dating app to find love.

Here is a small excerpt from the first chapter:

Ceri.

Rhian’s body reacted before her mind could process the shock. Her arm tightened around Aiden, her spine stiffened, her face emptied of expression. The familiar perfume hit her next, that cloying designer scent Ceri wore like armor.

“Hello, Rhian.” The voice was exactly as she remembered (a practiced sweetness with an undercurrent of steel). “Aren’t you going to invite me in?”

“No, I’m not. You are not welcome here.” Rhian pulled the fuzzy blanket higher over Aiden’s shoulder, as if the thin fabric could shield him from whatever poison Ceri carried. “We have nothing to discuss. Go back to Aeron and Rhys.” The names felt strange in her mouth after months of careful avoidance.

She stepped back to shut the door, but Ceri moved with unexpected quickness, her manicured hand shooting out to catch the edge. Her rings caught the light. She wore an ostentatious diamond still prominent on her left hand. The sight of it turned Rhian’s stomach.

“Five minutes,” Ceri said, her voice dropping its artificial sweetness. “After what you did, you owe me that much.”

“I did nothing, and I owe you nothing. Don’t make me call the police.” Rhian’s voice dropped, mindful of Aiden squirming against her.

Ceri’s gaze dropped to the baby, her expression shifting in a way that made Rhian’s protective instincts flare. “So this is why you disappeared. I suspected as much.” Her eyes narrowed, calculating. “Does he know?”

“What do you want?” Rhian blocks the doorway. Aiden made a small sound of protest, perhaps responding to the tightness of her grip or the sharpness in her tone.

Ceri stopped pushing against the door, but her stance made it clear she wasn’t leaving. “Just answer me one thing.” She gestured deliberately at Aiden, making Rhian want to slap her hand. “Is it Rhys?”

The question landed between them like a live grenade. The freaking audacity of Ceri to accuse her of such a thing, to reduce Aiden to an “it,” to assume… Rhian felt the heat rise in her chest, an uncomfortable burn that she recognized as rage.

Aiden seemed to get antsy, as if noticing his mother’s anger. He made a small whimpering sound, turning his face into her neck. Rhian bounced him automatically, even as she stared Ceri down.

“No.” The word was clean and sharp, delivered with precise aim.
