Knit, Purl, and Prose – June 2025

Exploring Relationships, Love, and Life

Created with Sketch.

With winter’s end and the blossoming of spring, we feel renewed and inspired. Welcome to the spring edition of “Knit, Purl, and Prose,” where we celebrate the delightful fusion of knitting, storytelling, and the invigorating spirit of the season. This month I’ll update you on my editing with my latest book, A Four-way Love Affair (AFWLA), my crafting and my latest obsession, bird watching.

Editing continues on AFWLA. I am nearly finished with the first edit and working out some of the plot holes and kinks in my story. I’ve also finally decided on the type of art I want for the cover. A sneak peek will come soon to my newsletter subscribers, so if you aren’t subscribed you can do that here: https://ladyvwrites.com/?page_id=305.

The weather is getting warmer, and I set aside the Pressed Flowers Cardigan and have been making some smaller projects. I’ve started a set of doily coasters for Mom’s Christmas Gift. I’ve also made some scrubbies for myself and my accountant, Jess. Then I completed the front and back of a new throw pillow. This pillow reminds me of growing up in the 70s. I’m still waiting on the 14 inch pillow form to come in. I dyed yarn for an upcoming project as well.

My new obsession: birdwatching. No, I’m not out in the woods seeking them out … yet. Over the winter we set out Miss Sally’s feeders, which the deer coming through destroyed, unfortunately. I really enjoyed watching the birds and trying to identify them. An activity I did with my paternal grandmother as a child. Mr. V’s response to my joy was to put up five more feeders while I moved the upstairs furniture around to get an optimal viewing position from the sofa while I knit or read. The gallery below shows a few varieties of birds I’ve discovered in my backyard.
