October Monthly Round-up

Exploring Relationships, Love, and Life

Created with Sketch.

My classes are nearly over, and it saddens me I won’t be as productive with my fiber arts, but I’ll be writing, so it’s a good thing. I’ve been using what I’ve learned from the writing guild about editing and revamping my free novelette, Something Comes.

I have yet to decide if I plan to do the same with the other four, but knowing how particular I can be, they will probably get a ferocious edit. I hired editors for all my books except Something Comes, and I genuinely appreciate them. However, reviewing my old work will allow me to practice these new skills. It will also let me figure out how I want to implement editing into my daily writing practice.

Now, onto the yarny things.

The Langley Sweater is complete. She’s gorgeous, and I love her.

Now, I’m working on another Ranunculus. I mentioned wanting a short-sleeved version of the top. You may recognize the yarn from the Picovoli I knitted earlier this year. The size I created was fine, even with the more oversized armholes, or so I thought. I tend to think I’m larger than I am and put a good amount of ease into my projects, but the armholes were way too big for my comfort. So, I reclaimed the yarn and used it for this project. Since I made the long-sleeve version before, I know the armholes will be the correct size.

I gave up on the crochet Leona Sweater. Taking classes and implementing my learning takes up most of my brain power. I didn’t want to rewrite the pattern to make it work. So, I started a Be Mine Cardigan by Crochet with Carrie and am currently loving it.

I still have a large dishtowel on the hook that I’m doing a three-color afghan stitch. I love the 60s/70s vibes the colors are giving off. Along with my new reading plan, or rather as part of it, I block out every Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. to listen to audiobooks and spin yarn. I’ve completely finished four large bumps of fiber in the last two weeks.
