Quick synopsis: The novel is based around a woman with the moniker DDG (drop-dead gorgeous). Seems great, right? But it’s not. She had a run of bad luck with family and friends dying around her. Not to mention the strange accidents that, on the surface, could happen to almost anyone, but they happened to her. The fact that she’s also a coroner does little to dispel the theory around her. Zoey believes this is her destiny. She’s cursed.
She meets an insurance salesperson in Blake Hale by hitting him with her car. Blake believes it’s all nonsense and wants to prove it to her.
Thoughts: Cute meets morbid in this romance, where the couple gets closer while investigating a man’s death that seems suspicious. I love the premise of this book. The chemistry between Blake and Zoey was well-written.
I felt the subplot description took over in some areas, and Zoey’s inner voice, which was admittedly hilarious at times, slowed down the story toward the end.
Overall, it is a good read. I recommend it to readers who like cute meet stories. Drop Dead Gorgeous comes in e-book, audio, and paperback.
