Exploring Relationships, Love, and Life

Created with Sketch.

I’ve been slowly but surely working on the rebranding of Lady V Writes. In the meantime, I’ve been able to finish a couple of projects.

The poppy tee pattern by Petite Knit is complete, and I couldn’t be happier with the result. The yarn is soft and light as a tee-shirt should be, and the fit is perfect.

I decided I should try making a simple tank top. The pattern for my inspiration was the Easiest Classic Knit Top Pattern by Mama in a Stitch. At first, I grabbed stash yarn I thought would work but after knitting one skein it was clear I wouldn’t have the amount needed to complete the project. Next, I tried holding two yarns together but it felt like something was missing, so after a third color, it felt right. But that made my yarn bulkier and my gauge much larger. I adapted the pattern to my yarn by decreasing the amount of stitches needed. I knew I wanted this to be tunic length and I’m happy with how it turned out.

Some new projects I’ve started. The Habitat Cardigan by Make and Do Crew is one of those sweaters you grab for a chilly day in Maine. I’ve been wanting a new house sweater, and this is the one.

Another project that I bought yarn for earlier this year is Langley by Berroco. I knew I would get bored after miles of stockinette stitch and needed a change, so this project was moved to the front burner, and I’m loving how it’s coming along. The color work is giving me a much-needed change.
