What does Fall/Autumn mean to you?

It’s around the time again when the upper hemisphere goes nuts by putting pumpkin spice in everything. Seriously though, pumpkin spice is pretty epic, and so are cozy sweaters. Fall is my favorite season.

I enjoy a good coffee with some pumpkin spice occasionally. But I associate many other things with the season: Butternut, acorn, and my favorite, blue hubbard squash (that Mr. V hates). There is a crispness in the air and, since I live in Maine, we take leaf-peeping trips.

The joy of taking the AC out of the window and knowing it’s not quite cold enough to turn the heat on (this time is so short). Some of my favorite meals are heartier soups like split pea and ham, sausage and squash, and venison stew over potatoes.
