During my monthly breast exam, I found a lump. Knowing that I had an upcoming mammogram, I waited (only a couple of weeks) and brought it up at the mammogram.
I was told that a biopsy was needed. My doctor took it seriously and since the lump was easily felt and seen. No problem. Now I’m not the type of person to freak out and let my mind wander to the worst-case scenario. I prefer to take a wait-and-see approach, meaning I didn’t tell anyone besides Mr. V and a few close friends.
Results came back, and thankfully it was a fibrous cyst, as the doctor thought. I did notice a change in my behavior during the month between the mammogram and biopsy. I was kinder to myself and didn’t push so hard, did some things I wanted to do and spent more time with Mr. V.
I guess in some ways, I was nervous about the possible prognosis. But the time has been eye-opening to me, and now I enjoy taking some time during the day to spend with Mr. V and my crafting. I’m considering changing my scheduled work time to include breaks to spend time with him. We’ve both enjoyed the time, and it reinforces the thought that we will be fine even in an RV’s closer quarters. I can’t wait to start that portion of our life together.
