My Planner

Exploring Relationships, Love, and Life

Someone challenged me to show my daily to-do list, so I decided to share my planner.

I don’t really make a to-do list, but I also make a to-do list. Let me explain. My to-do list is basically listing the things that I need to put into my planner.

Firstly I put appointments on the monthly calendar.

Then I go to my weekly lists, including the top five things I plan on doing for the week. Then it gets broken down to the top 3 things to accomplish during the day. You see, I don’t plan my top three all at once. This leaves some room for those unexpected items that can come up. Sometimes I find that one job is taking longer than I thought, or I might even finish a task early.

There is a chore list I do every day. This is kept on the week page just to refer to so I don’t forget anything.

After that, there is the in-depth cleaning checklist I follow with my modified FlyLady plan. I’m going back to the beginning with the cleaning plan because the shoulder injury has set me behind. To be honest, the cleaning thing would have thrown me into a full OCD freak out at one time. Instead of pushing myself to do everything and not being able to sit down and write a post like this until my house was perfect. I’ve learned to tell myself it’s not going anywhere, and it’s planned out.

A sound planning system and therapy did wonders for me. Even though my planning system is always somewhat in transition, as your life changes, so does your planner.
