It’s New Year, but I have no resolutions. I’ve tried making resolutions in the past, and they seem to fall to the wayside. To be honest, I can be a fantastic procrastinator. Like most people, I tend to put off my more unsavory (who am I kidding) shitty tasks.
I know myself well. I know if I stay up late, I’m only going to do the necessities the next day. I’m pretty much useless. If I don’t do my stretches and exercises, my neck and shoulders will be screaming at me. Ignoring the laundry doesn’t make Mt. Washmore go away.
And even though I’ve been dealing with repetition stress injury from writing, there is no way I’m going to stop. So I need to continue to do the things that are helping me (I’ve just finished 12 weeks of Physical therapy but more on that later). Even if that means planning the time out and forcing myself to get on with it.
I’ve been working on what I want to do for this year. Deliberate Deception has gone through a re-write and needs to be edited again. I set Abducted to the side temporarily while I think of something bombastic for it. Cheated is on the back-burner for the time being, as it’s just a bunch of notes and a beginning. I am currently working on a fantasy-type novel (which I had always wanted to try), still unnamed at this time. So more content coming up for the new year.
So no resolutions for the New Year, just determination and a sound planning system. Do you make resolutions? More importantly, do you stick with them? What are they? Let me know in the comments below. I am interested in what you think of New Year’s resolutions.
